About 15 alumni of UP Prep Class '67 made a brief visit at CAS as part of its 50th Grand Reunion celebration.
Dean Leonardo R. Estacio Jr welcomed the alumni and presented the current flagship programs of the College during the get together in the CAS Alumni Conference Room, followed by tour of CAS including the Little Theater (now UP Manila Theater) and Rizal Hall classrooms which are presently undergoing renovations. The alumni walked along familiar corridors and visited their old classrooms. Lunch was served at UP Manila Museum after the tour.
With research entitled “From Bosons to Permutations: Surprising Connections between Combinatorics and Physics,” CAS held its 1st Brown Bag Research Forum for 2017 with Professor Ken Gonzales as the main speaker. The event was sponsored by the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM).
Outgoing Convenor of Manila Studies Program, Prof. Glenn L. Sia Su and DPSM Chair, Prof. Marcelina Lirazan, awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to the speaker. (DAEstanislao)
Preventing a workplace injury is more complicated than simply providing a safe working environment and to CAS, the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and public is of paramount importance. CAS aims to be UP Manila’s leader in safety practices.
As part of Dean Leonardo Estacio’s "RISE UP CAS” initiative, improved safety awareness programs and standards are a significant item in the agenda. To the safety goals of the College, CAS trains individuals on safe working practices and requirements for safety.
