Fire Alarm Design and Applications Seminar

To ensure fire alarm operational standards and safety of CAS community members and students, it is the College’s responsibility to properly maintain its fire alarm system(s). To better understand the requirements involved and  enhance the knowledge of personnel responsible, a seminar on fire alarm design and applications was  held on March 29, 2017 for the Emergency Response Team of CAS.

The seminar aimed to underscore the capabilities and operational features of traditional fire alarm systems and their applications to enhance safety and compliance. During the seminar, Engineer Herbert Teves of Integrated Security and Automation, Inc. provided participants with an overview of alarm system basics, system operation, and governing codes and standards application.

A fire drill will be scheduled to better demonstrate the procedures and practices during a fire and acquaint personnel with the equipment and methods that are to be used during the crises situation.
