dc.description.abstract Kasambahays or house helpers have always been a part of the Filipino culture since time immemorial. On January 2013, a law protecting and pursuing the rights and welfare of our Kasambahays was passed, that is, the Batas Kasambahay or the Domestic Workers Act. Various Kasambahays from Iba, Zambales and Olongapo City, government officials and non-governmental organizations/people's organizations were interviewed to evaluate the implementation of the said law. This research showed how ineffective the implementation of the law was, that even four years after it was enacted, it is still not properly implemented. Our Kasambahays are not sufficiently informed about their law, and even the government agencies who are responsible are indifferent towards the law. Boiling down to the fact that domestic work should be recognized as skilled work. en_US
