dc.description.abstract A macrofungi survey was conducted in November, 2009 in Sagada, Mt. Province. The survey generated a total of 46 isolates, of which 40 were classified into 18 unique genera. In addition, six isolates, all basidiomycetes, were not assigned a genus. The most common genus found in the survey is Lenzites. Four genera that were common to both study sites are; Lenzites, Dctcryopinax, Ganoderma and Schizophyllum. Though ecological measurements were obtained along the survey areas, no sufficient correlation between ecological factors and species distribution may be established due to the limited number of samples for each unique species. A comparison of the two study sites; Ankileng located at a relatively lower elevation and Demang located at a higher elevation was made according to the macrofungal species that were found in the survey. The greater forest cover of some areas of the Ankileng study allowed varied growth of forest litter fungi, particularly bracket fungi. The common occurrence of steep sloped ground in the Demang study site might have influenced the number of macrofungi from soil substrate. There is a possibility that macrofungi sensitivity to moisture levels would influence where macrofungi can be found, particularly for soil substrate macrofungi. It is recommended that survey may be conducted in time for the mushroom season, which is wet season, to increase recorded species. en_US
