Abstract:
It is in a patriarchal society that we Filipinos are
born in. And it is with this state that feminist movements
shouted for equality between sexes. Their femme voices
bear "what men can do, women can too!" Women have proved these words a lot, factlyz in
different fields z I almost every aspect. In the
entertainment field, sports, international acclaims, arts,
science, technology - name it, tough women exist. Eve has
proven firmly that she is not Adam's colleague alone. Do
these statements disclose extremely that even in the field
of crime commitment, women run fast nearing to men
offenders' populace? Does their want on equality with man
has something to do with women crimes increasing rate?
This research gives focus mainly on the underlying
behind the increasing population of detained women
specifically at the Manila City Jail Female Dorm. Three
assumptions behind the continuous incline in population are
given emphasis on the study and were given thorough
investigations. Elements of these assumptions include an
economic issue - poverty; a psychological concern - women
victimization; and political - the criminal justice system
in the Philippines and the legal dealings these women
obtain.
