Abstract:
This research studied the city development strategies of Mayor Belmonte as he
creates socio-economic development programs for Quezon City. The researcher measures
the effectiveness of the socio-economic development programs through infrastructure
developments for education purpose, the improvement of education and employment
generation. The researcher enumerated the different programs of Mayor Belmonte for
infrastructure, education, and employment generation. This research also inquired about the
number of beneficiaries of these programs through studying annual reports published by the
Belmonte administration as well as other sources available.
The researcher used the Qualitative Technique of gathering and collecting needed
data for this study. Field research and Library research were used by the proponent to gather
data. The proponent also conducted three key informant interviews as primary sources of
this research. Secondary data were utilized by the researcher to further support the claim
gathered in the key informant interviews. Descriptive analysis and policy analysis
techniques were applied.
The proponent also gave a background of the study. The history, profile, population
and local economy of Quezon City were all presented in Chapter n. The researcher made
use of existing statistics to further give a well-presented background of the study.
After gathering and analyzing data gathered, the researcher concluded that the city
development strategies of Mayor Belmonte effectively create socio-economic development
programs in Quezon City. However, the researcher also gave her recommendation at the last
part of this research.
