dc.description.abstract The research primarily aims to determine if there is an existing relationship between the satisfaction in the working relationship with co-workers and supervisor and the decision of an employee to leave an organization. The study was conducted among the employees of ABS-CBN‟s News and Current Affairs Department – New Media Group and the Control Monitoring and Development Group. The researcher wanted to know if there is a significant relationship between both the satisfaction in the working relationship with co-workers and supervisor or if only one or none at all has an influence on employee turnover. The study also seeks to identify the other factors that influence turnover besides the satisfaction with working relationship. For this study, the researcher arrived at a framework based on the 1977 Turnover Determinants and Intervening Variables model of Price. The study is quantitative in nature as it gathered data by employing a survey questionnaire as an instrument. The instrument was pilot tested prior to the actual data gathering in order to ensure its reliability. The chosen population for the study was the News and Current Affairs Department – New Media Group and the Control Monitoring and Development Group of ABS-CBN. The statistical treatments used were the univariate analysis, Spearman Rho, and factorial analysis. To provide a general description of the demographic profile of the respondents and to identify the other factors that influence turnover, the univariate analysis was employed. Spearman Rho was used to determine if a significant relationship exist between overall satisfaction in the working relationship with co-workers and supervisor and turnover. And the factorial analysis was used in order to identify the main variables or components that influence satisfaction in the working relationship with co-workers and supervisor. The results showed that there is a moderately weak relationship between turnover and the satisfaction of employees with the working relationship they have with their co-workers. However, there is a moderately strong relationship between turnover and the satisfaction of employees with the working relationship they have with their supervisor. Among the variables identified, the exchange of information was highly regarded as a major factor in the satisfaction of employees in the working relationship with their supervisor. The study also found out that job security, better job offer from another organization, and pay and benefits were the top reasons why the employees left their previous jobs. When asked about the possible reason for them to leave their present job, better job offer from another organization, pay and benefits, and promotion was highly chosen by the respondents. The researcher recommends that further studies should be conducted as the findings maybe limited only to the two departments of ABS-CBN. The study could be conducted to other organizations and could employ a larger sample size. Other researches could also study the top factors that influenced turnover among the employees such as job security, better job offer from another organization, and pay and benefits. en_US
