dc.description.abstract | Our history tells us that the Philippines is struggling to have a better economy and a trong government system. The country has faced many adversities and the Filipino people re seeking for a brighter future. The Philippines was known to be rich in natural resources but despite that fact, it has not yet reached development. Critics say that the government system is the problem. News show that today, the Philippines is the most corrupt country in world. Corruption is rampant and it is believed that dealing with it is the most difficult thing to do. The significance of the study is to show the problem of absenteeism in Congress. The problem could be associated with corruption. This problem should be addressed so that there will be no innocent Filipino people affected. This paper will describe the roles of the lawmakers in the Philippines. The functions of the Congress will be discussed. This research aims to show the causes and effects of absenteeism by legislators during sessions at the plenary hall. The legislators' behavior is examined if they are able to do their responsibilities even if there is a practice of absenteeism.[Introduction] | en_US |
