Three CAS Students are 2019 BPI-DOST Science Awardees
The Bank of the Philippine Islands Foundation, Inc. has chosen three graduating students from the College of Arts and Sciences as among the 30 recipients of the annual Bank of the Philippine Islands-Department of Science and Technology (BPI-DOST) Science Awards.
Established in 1989, the BPI-DOST Science Award aims to recognize and provide incentives to budding scientists and researchers from BPI’s ten partner universities in the Philippines
Awardees are selected from a pool of exceptional science and engineering students from universities nationwide, on the basis of academic performance, as well as research work that can potentially contribute to industry and nation building.
The 2019 BPI – DOST awardees are:
- Christian Luke Dela Cruz Badua (BS Biology) – for his work “In vitro Cytotoxic Activity of Pediococcus acidilactici S3 Cell Free Supernatant Against Colorectal Cancer Cells (HCT 116)”
- Ma. Carmela Perez dela Cruz (BS Biochemistry) – for her work “A Colorimetric Method for Detecting Liquid and Vapor Phase Aldehydes”
- Kitz Paul Delgra Marco (BS Biochemistry) – for his work “Partial Purification of Philippine Plant M004 Components and Evaluation of Anticancer Potential Against 2 Breast Cancer Cell Lines”
