The University of the Philippines (UPM) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) congratulates Professor Honey Libertine Achanzar-Labor, PhD for being awarded as UP System Artist I under the UP Arts Productivity Systems (APS) for Batch 2021-2023. She is the only University Artist awardee from UP Manila. The award is given to UP faculty who have demonstrated outstanding productivity in the creative arts or in arts scholarly work for national development, by the Board of Regents (BOR) at its 1390th Meeting in May 2024.
Dr. Achanzar-Labor is a Professor at the Department of Arts and Communication (DAC) of CAS, and currently serves as the Special Assistant to the Chancellor for the UP Manila Museum of a History of Ideas. She founded the Faura Project, with the aim of reviving, revitalizing, and sustaining the district of Ermita’s cultural and historical heritage. Among its projects were the International Flores de Mayo Festival and Conference, the Dress-up Santacruzan, and the Heritage Trail Walk.
