Laboratory of Materials (LABMAT) of the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics conducted a training on Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) for high school chemistry and physics teachers on July 5, 2024 at the Rizal Hall of the College of Arts and Sciences.
The morning training session started with a lecture about the basic concepts of DSC. In the afternoon, the 32 high school teachers were divided into two groups for the hands-on training. They were taught about sample preparation, data acquisition, and data analysis.
The event is an extension service of the college. This was spearheaded by LABMAT’s head Dr. Julius Andrew P. Nunez.
