College of Arts and Sciences

Three College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) retirees, 15 faculty and administrative employees who had served the university for 20-40 years span, together with three Gawad Chancellor faculty awardees were recognized and honored during the 42nd University of the Philippines Manila Day and the 45th Anniversary of the Autonomy of the Health Sciences Center with this year’s theme: “Pagdiriwang ng Kaalaman Tungo sa Pangkalahatang Kalusugan”.

One of the most accomplished research of the college, Dr. Vincent Peter C. Magboo, from the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM) received the Gawad Chancellor Award for Outstanding Researcher. Meanwhile, Cinemalaya 2023 Best Director and Instructor Ryan E. Machado from the Department of Arts and Communication (DAC), received the Outstanding Artists Award. Senior lecturer Maryanne Jenelle Y. Montalvo from the Department of Physical Education (DPE) was Gawad Chancellor Awardee for Outstanding Athlete. The said award recognized the “exemplary accomplishments and contributions of the members of the UP Manila community to the university and the country in their respective fields.”
