UP Manila CAS Convenes its 211th Faculty Council Meeting

The University of the Philippines Manila College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) held its 211th Faculty Council Meeting last September 5, 2025 at the CAS Theater. The meeting was attended by faculty members from the Department of Behavioral Sciences, CAS-UPManila, Department of Social Sciences – U.P. Manila, UP Manila – Department of Arts and Communication, Department of Biology – CAS, UP Manila, Department of Physical Education UP Manila, and the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics. Their presence reflected the collective commitment of the college to address academic and institutional concerns with a unified approach.
 
Also in attendance were the Dean of the College, together with the Associate Dean for Research and Public Service, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Dean for Planning and Development, UPM CAS Office of the College Secretary, UPM CAS Office of Alumni Affairs, and UPM CAS Office of Student Services. The participation of these offices underscored the importance of interdepartmental collaboration in the advancement of CAS initiatives and policies.
 
The council deliberated on several important agenda items, including the approval of the minutes from the 210th Faculty Council Meeting, the formal introduction of newly hired faculty members, and the presentation of reports from the Dean and Associate Deans. Furthermore, the meeting covered significant matters such as the evaluation of candidates for the mid-year term, preparations for the 2024–2025 graduation, and the resolution of concerns related to requests for grade changes.
 
Through this assembly, the CAS Faculty Council reaffirmed its role as a vital body in shaping the academic direction of the college. The discussions and decisions made during the meeting reflected the institution’s enduring commitment to academic excellence, good governance, and service to the university community.
