Successful SDO Capacity Building Training for AP Teachers
Last October 11, the College of Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Schools Division Office Manila, successfully conducted the first day of the Capacity Building for In-Service Teachers: Araling Panlipunan 8 (Ang Asya at Daigdig) at the UP Manila Theater. Public school teachers from various districts of Manila were present for this training program, and the event was facilitated by the UPM CAS Manila Studies Program.
The program initiated training sessions on topics included in the Curriculum Guide for Araling Panlipunan 8 (Ang Asya at Daigdig) and was led by professors from the CAS Department of Social Sciences. Topics for the training included:
– Global Financial Crisis, facilitated by Prof. Bernard Leo Karganilla
– Civil Rights Movement sa US, facilitated by Prof. Emmanuel Jeric Albela
– Back to Africa Movement, facilitated by Prof. Wensley M. Reyes.
