Two CAS Faculty Members are 2020 NAST Outstanding Scientific Paper Awardees
Prof. Marileen P. Balolong and Asst Prof. Joel C. Cornista, faculty members of the Department of Biology, are among this year’s nine recipients of the Outstanding Scientific Paper Award given by the National Academy of Science and Technology. Their paper is titled “Detection of extended-spectrum β-Lactamace-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from four provincial hospitals in Luzon and Genotyping of β-Lactamase (blaCTX-M, blaTEM, blaSHV, and blaOXA-1) Genes.”
The Outstanding Scientific Paper Awards are given annually for papers with quality content and significant contribution to science and technology, published in Thompson Reuters or SCOPUS listed journals in the Philippines within five years preceding the award.
