CAS holds first-ever research colloquium

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) held its first-ever college-wide Undergraduate Research Colloquium last June 18, 2024.

The event was conceptualized by the Office of the Associate Dean for Research and Public Service (OADREPS), headed by CAS Associate Dean Christopher Jay T. Robidillo and committee members from the various respective programs of the college.

It was attended by over 130 students, faculty, staff members, and guests. In addition, over a hundred students submitted their entries for all the events and categories. Only about half of them made it to the competition after rigorous screening by the committee.

The Oral and Poster Presentation competition was divided into four main categories: the Social and Behavioral Sciences, the Biological Sciences, the Physical and Computing Sciences, and the Arts and Humanities.

The event concluded with the following winners for each presentation type and category:

First place winners of each category of the Oral Presentation will receive PhP5,000.00, while first place winners of each category of the Poster Presentation will receive PhP3,000.00. The winners will also be recognized during the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Recognition Day.
