The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Executive Committee held its annual strategic planning last July 31 to August 1, 2024 at Hotel Kimberly, Tagaytay City.
The two-day event was attended by various CAS department and office heads, who presented their achievements and challenges for the year 2024, and plans for the upcoming academic year. UP Manila officials also attended the said event.
Among the notable attendees and presenters during the first day of the program were UPM Vice Chancellor for Research, Dr. Leslie Michelle M. Dalmacio, who presented the UPM Research Agenda and responded to the concerns of the college regarding research and issues related to administrative processes. UPM Information Management Services (IMS) Director and CAS Assistant Professor Marbert John C. Marasigan also attended and delivered updates on the university’s information management infrastructure and the strides of UP Manila towards digitization of academic and administrative services.
On the second day, Dr. Johanna Patricia A. Cañal, the UPM Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, answered questions from the departments and office heads. Dr. Bernadette Heizel M. Reyes, UPM Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, gave updates and inputs on academic affairs via Zoom. UPM Chancellor Michael L. Tee was also there to answer questions and give solutions to the concerns brought up by the College.
The event culminated with each department and office being tasked to input the results of their review with a view to formulating appropriate strategies for the next year.
