BS Biochemistry Alumnus Wins Best Poster Award in Bangkok
John Kevin Caesar Palay, a Batch 2024 graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry Program under the college’s Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (DPSM), received the Best Poster Presentation Award (Honorable Mention) at the Joint International Tropical Medicine Meeting 2024 held in Bangkok, Thailand last December 11 to 13, 2024.
Palay was among the six recipients of the said award where a total of 84 presenters competed. He presented his study entitled, “Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica Detection via Colorimetric Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (cLAMP) Assay Targeting Salmonella Invasion Protein A (sipA) Gene”.
The study was a product of the collaboration between the ChemBiochem Unit of DPSM-UP Manila, Natural Sciences Research Institute, and the Manila Healthtek Inc.
