Procurement Planning Workshop held at CAS Little Theater

The University of the Philippines Manila (UP Manila) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) successfully held a Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP) Workshop last June 27 at the CAS Little Theater, gathering administrative staff and unit representatives to align on the guidelines and procedures for the preparation of the 2026 PPMP.

The event opened with welcome remarks from Dr. Ma. Teresa G. De Guzman, Dean of the College, who emphasized the importance of meticulous planning in ensuring efficient and timely procurement processes. This was followed by an overview and introduction by Dr. Jay T. Dalet, CAS Associate Dean for Planning and Development (ADPD), who set the tone for the day’s activities and objectives.

A highlight of the morning session was the talk by Mr. Isagani L. Bagus, Director of the UP System Supply and Property Management Office (SPMO). In his presentation, Mr. Bagus shared institutional best practices and addressed common issues encountered in procurement planning. The session also included an open forum where participants raised concerns and sought clarifications on procurement policies and procedures.

The afternoon session centered on the preparation of the actual PPMP.

The workshop was held in compliance with Memorandum Order No. MGDG 2025-15, which mandates all units to thoroughly prepare their procurement plans in advance of the submission deadline, aiming to enhance project delivery and optimize resource utilization for 2026.

The workshop concluded with a renewed commitment among participants to enhance planning accuracy and compliance, marking a proactive step toward a more streamlined procurement process within the college.
